In the biblical story of Joseph and his brothers we see where jealousy wrecked havoc on a large family. Because of jealousy, Joseph's brothers treated him horribly and ultimately sold him into slavery. Joseph had a very difficult time in his own home. His brothers, who could have easily been his closest friends and confidants, were actually his enemies. They intended to harm him. How sad, when the very people you poured energy and love into, turn away from you and wish you harm? Jealousy is like a rotten apple and it's venom can poison an entire batch of good apples. I can go on and on about how the Bible speaks against jealousy. God repeatedly reminds us to love our neighbors. He implores with us to rejoice when our brother rejoiced and mourn with the depressed. However, this post is actually not about jealousy, it's about God getting the victory! Joseph reminded his brothers that their plans failed because of God. The very thing they thought would break him down, built him up! God's plans are greater. His path is straighter even with enemies on your trail. Trust the process. Devote to him daily to be unwaivering.
