“Where there is no counsel, purposes are disappointed; But in the multitude of counselors they are established.”
This verse is a humble reminder that people need people. God provides great wisdom in his Word, but through mentors, friends, and family, we may be able to learn more and more about how God wants us to apply that wisdom to our lives. However, with this reminder comes a warning. Not everyone is in your life is there for edification. Some people are examples of what not to do. Some people are tests. Some people are there for YOU to provide the wise counsel. For this reason, begin your new year by carefully looking at your circle. Examine the contributions that they have made to your life. If those contributions are lacking, don't be so quick to cut them off. Perhaps, this is the season for you to contribute to their life. If your contribution is not causing you to stumble, financially, physically, or spiritually, then you should prayerfully continue to bless them! We are salt and light, neither of which are needed where there is already salt or light. Which means, in the places where you are truly being a blessing, it will be bland and dark. Are you willing and ready to go where it is bland and dark? Use daily devotion to get yourself prepared. Seek wise counsel. Ask God to bless you, so that you can bless others. Seek him daily for confirmation and motivation.
I love you, but GOD loves you MORE!
